We knew coming in to Sydney that we would need to visit Bondi Beach at some point, and what better time to do it than by continuing to celebrate the new year on our day off. Bondi has a completely different beach bum party town vibe than the rest of Sydney. Everyone is in great shape, walking around in bikinis and board shorts, surfing, swimming, or flailing for help in the rip tide, as we saw in several cases. Australian lifeguards sure are a busy bunch of guys (don't worry mom I wouldn't even go in past my knee).
After a long afternoon on the beach, we finished off our day at Bondi by grabbing some seafood at a cafe with an incredible beach view. I had a ridiculously rich and filling meal of seafood spaghetti marinara with scallops, shrimp, and mussels. Life abroad is really tough.
